ABS strengthens its commitment to the central american sugar industry at ATACA 2024

The 23th edition of ATACA, held from September 9-12 at the Hilton San Salvador, has been an excellent opportunity for ABS Atlantic Bearing to reaffirm its commitment to the sugar industry in Central America. Over several days of intense activity, our team interacted and collaborated with the region’s leading technical experts, presenting our specialized solutions to improve the efficiency of sugar mill production processes.

Our team, led by José Ugalde and Adriana Rojas, was present at stand 20, where they listened firsthand to the challenges the sugar industry faces and shared our solutions for improving production systems.

A highlight of our participation was the technical presentation given by our colleague, José Ugalde, titled “Selection, Maintenance, and Realities of Planetary Gearboxes in the Sugar Industry.” In his presentation, José emphasized the importance of this key component, which provides high torque in limited spaces, and explained how proper maintenance is essential to ensuring optimal performance in sugar processing plants.

As part of the congress activities, our team also had the opportunity to visit the Grupo El Ángel‘s sugar mill, one of the most important sugar mills in the region. This enriching experience allowed us to see firsthand the operational challenges they face and highlighted how our solutions can enhance their performance.

With over 25 years of experience in the industry, ABS continues to establish itself as a technical leader in providing engineering solutions to the technical teams of sugar mills. We are proud to be part of the growth of this vital sector for the Central American economy and remain committed to offering high-quality products and services that meet the specific needs of each client.

We want to extend our thanks to everyone who visited us at stand 20 during the congress, as well as to the organizers, ATASAL (Association of Sugar Technicians of El Salvador) and ATACA (Association of Sugar Technicians of Central America), for the excellent organization. This has undoubtedly been a great opportunity to share knowledge and strengthen relationships with our clients and strategic partners.

We leave ATACA 2024 with high expectations for the future, confident that our advanced technology and specialized team will continue to play a key role in the success of sugar mills across the region.

See you at ATACA 2025!
