We recently honored our esteemed José Martínez Escanaverino in an emotional online event attended by his family, colleagues, and friends, who came together to celebrate his ten years of outstanding leadership in ABS’s scientific direction.

During the event, our CEO, Alejandro Pardiñas, and our Engineering Director, Carlos Romay, presented a commemorative plaque in recognition of his extraordinary contributions, highlighting the most significant milestones of his remarkable journey.

It is hard to find someone who inspires greater admiration and respect within our team. Affectionately known as “El Profesor” among his colleagues, José has participated in over 400 projects at ABS, leaving his mark with a calm, humble, and expert approach.

His technical precision has been—and remains—critical in establishing ABS as a global reference in engineering solutions for power transmission. Moreover, his passion for knowledge sharing, reflected in the training and mentorship of ABS’s young engineers, has been pivotal in building a legacy of expertise and preparation that will drive the company’s future.

José’s achievements are exceptional and far-reaching, extending beyond ABS to the field of mechanical engineering worldwide. Over the years, he has seamlessly combined academic and scientific excellence with his role as a technical pillar and key reference in the company.

Specialized in systems engineering, his contributions have profoundly impacted companies, universities, and organizations across Cuba—his homeland—Venezuela, Brazil, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, and the United States.

In 2021, José was granted the title of Senior Member by the prestigious IEEE Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a recognition awarded to only 10% of its members since the organization’s founding in 1963. This year, he was also honored with AGMA‘s prestigious Annual Publication Award for his instrumental role in developing the standard ANSI/AGMA 6008-B24, Specifications for Powder Metallurgy Gears.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations once again and look forward to continuing to benefit from his exceptional expertise and collaboration for many years to come.
