Alejandro Pardiñas, CEO of ABS, Jenny Blackford, President of ABMA, and Matt Croson, President of AGMA, during the ABMA / AGMA annual meeting in Florida, USA, March 31 – April 2, 2022
On March 31st, 2022, Alejandro Pardiñas, CEO of ABS group, was elected a new member of the Board of Directors of the American Bearings Manufacturers Association. The election took place during the Association’s Assembly, where the newly elected officers were announced for the next three years.
As a member of the ABMA Board of Directors, Alejandro will attend meetings three times a year to participate in the critical decisions of the Association. He will have the option to be re-elected at the end of his term in 2025.
ABMA was founded in 1917 as an informal committee to assist in bearing production during World War I, and in 1933 its first bylaws were signed as the Anti-Friction Bearing Manufacturers Association (AFBMA). Today, it is the leading industry trade association in the United States. It is structured into a board of directors that sets its strategy, a permanent management team, and five committees made up of member company representatives that address critical issues affecting the global bearing industry.
Educated at the Technological University of Havana with a master’s degree in Mechanical Design, Alejandro Pardiñas has linked his career to entrepreneurship and the promotion of innovative businesses, each capable of providing solutions to complex problems, mainly through the company Atlantic Bearing Services, which offers engineering solutions for heavy industry such as cement, steel, mining, and sugar; as well as the wind power industry. Alejandro has expressed his gratitude and excitement “…for this election which I humbly accept as an extension of my more than 30 years of dedication to the design and custom manufacturing of bearings, gears, and other industrial components. What ABMA and AGMA have provided and continue to provide is invaluable. This is a unique opportunity to work on the front line alongside my other outstanding colleagues to develop and disseminate the industry, and a further step in recognition of our ABS company and our ACB bearing brand.”
Jenny Blackford, president of ABMA, thanked the new board members “for lending us their passion, expertise, and time” and said she was eager to start working with them at the next meeting that will be celebrated in Summer 2022.
