We are proud to announce that our CEO, Alejandro Pardiñas, has been honored as ‘Executive of the Year’ at the 44th edition of the Ponce de León Awards, presented by the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce in Florida. This recognition highlights Alejandro’s leadership and commitment in the engineering solutions industry, as well as his vision to drive innovation in strategic sectors such as power transmission and renewable energy. The awards ceremony will take place at a gala on November 21 in Miami, where Iberdrola and its subsidiary Avangrid will also be recognized as ‘Company of the Year’ for their commitment to advancing clean energy, setting new standards in sustainability, and innovation.
Since the company’s beginnings in Miami, Alejandro has led ABS’s global expansion, positioning the company in more than 15 countries across 4 continents. Over the years, he has diversified ABS’s range of products and services, including the development of custom manufacturing brands, solidifying its role as a key strategic partner for leading industries.
He has also expanded ABS’s presence into new markets, establishing ABS Wind, the company’s wind energy division, as a global reference in maintenance, repair, and supply solutions for wind turbine components.
As a board member of the American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA), Alejandro works closely with esteemed colleagues to promote the North American industry, driving various initiatives to strengthen the sector’s competitiveness and leadership.
In 2024, Alejandro was also appointed to the National Industrial Advisory Board at the College of Engineering and Computing at Florida International University (FIU), a prestigious position that will allow him to share his extensive experience and leadership, reinforcing his commitment to educational excellence and the development of the next generation of engineering talent.
Reflecting on this recognition, Alejandro commented: “For an American entrepreneur, born in Cuba, who maintains strong personal and professional ties with Spain and whose business generates value across various Ibero-American countries, receiving this recognition from the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce is both an honor and a source of deep pride. I share this achievement with all my partners, especially the Ortega family, who believed in this venture, and with all members of ABS and ABS Wind.”
We congratulate Alejandro on this well-deserved recognition, which reinforces our commitment at ABS and ABS Wind to continue promoting excellence and innovation in all our projects.
