At ABS Wind we continue to prepare for the future. A future that, regarding the US market, could not be more promising. In recent years, new onshore wind turbines have been installed in 25 states. Texas installed the largest capacity, followed by other states such as Iowa, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Illinois, and Missouri. And by 2050, the US has set itself the goal that renewable energy, mainly wind and solar photovoltaic, can cover 80% of electricity demand.
Faced with this reality, which is already generating an increase in our repair and supply services for wind turbines from our Texas workshop it is necessary to incorporate changes in the management system that allow us to enhance and adapt our services and processes to continue leading in the repair, repowering, and reconditioning of wind turbines installed in the USA.
We are excited to welcome Otto Díaz as the new National Sales Director of ABS Wind USA. We are sure that his passion and experience in relationships with clients related to power transmission in both the industrial sector and the wind sector, and with companies such as Habasit, Siemens, and SKF, with which ABS Atlantic Bearing, maintains a close collaboration, will be decisive in providing a more efficient service to all our clients.
